Actually, it is a well known fact that the only good sounding turds in
toilets are those made prior to 1965, when TurdCo, Inc. was sold to a
conglomorate (Eljer or Kohler, I forget which). They proceeded to
change the basic design of the classic brown turd, both flattening tone
and reducing sustain. Quality fell off also. Now it is true that these
older, vintage turds cost a lot these day, what with the German and
Japanese collecters, but if you can find one, especially with the
pre-Chiffon case, you will be thankful.
I also suspect that part of your problem is your toilet. If it is a
new-fangled "low flow" model, well, it just doesn't make it. Only the
original, all gravity models are any good.
