to get the ts 5 to react more like a 9 ... in addition to changing the op amp to a better one the key is altering the feedback loops around the op amp
on one side of the op amp you have the clip circuit
i changed the .047 cap and 4.7 k resistor to .1 mfd and 2k
on the other side of the op amp ... driving the level control i changesd the feedback 1 k resistor to 1.5 k
these two small mods increase the output distortion and compression of the 5 to levels more in line with the ts 9
i don't know why these adjustments are needed as my ts 5 appeared to be schematically identical to a ts 9 but after many parts swaps and much hair pulling not to mention crispy burnt long haired rocker with a soldering iron smell my ts 5 sounds cooler than my ts 9
most excellent ... i must now retire and practice my stairway to heaven for my next visit to the local guitar store
