First the cost of the kit is $599.00, this is for a complete amp head kit with cab. I expect the power trannies to arrive mid Oct. so kit's will be available by Nov. I designed this amp as a primer to tube amp builders. It's a 4 tube 45 watt EL-34 output class A/B fixed bias amp. Since it is a primer I decided to use a little differant topography, in an attempt to show the use of other than typical tubes. The input tube is a EF-86, for those not familiar with this tube it's a high gain pentode, rather unique sounding, not your typical 12AX7, also it will tolerate higher inputs, making it handle stomp box inputs very gracefully. The tone stack consists of Volume, Bass and Treble. which then enters a non negative feedback long tail phase inverter. The output are two EL-34's push pull fixed bias. The output tranny has 4,8 and 16 ohm taps . I have attempted to make this kit simple yet original, easy to build yet challenging, and use the highest quality componants and still keep the price resonable. I hope this answers the many questions posted. DR.Z
