I once had a blackface Super reverb that had previously belonged to
Smokin' Joe Kubek, and it had his named spraypainted in white stencil
on all sides as well as the grill cloth. I used fingernail polish
remover on the tolex in very small quantities with cottonballs.
This did slightly dull the tolex, but a good coat of Armor-All
brought it back to life, and it looked like new. For the grill cloth, I
removed the baffle board and took it to a high pressure car wash and the
paint came right off.
