Hi there.

I recently got a Budda twinmaster ten head and a 4X10 cab (Mojo).
I used to have a Boogie mkIV which I really loved for its
versatility but I could never get a nice vintage tone out of
it. I was looking for something that would give me a nice Fenderish
starting-to-break-up tone, and also a Vox AC30 kind of tone with
no more than 30 watts.

At one point I was ready to buy a Matchless but I had a chance to
get a good deal on the Budda. I am very impressed with this amp.
It only has 3 knobs: volume, bass, treble; 2 inputs: low or high
gain; a simple series effects loop, and a slave out.

At the low input, the amp sounds like a Fender Deluxe but it breaks
up nicer, more like a Vox AC30. The volume knob increases the volume
until around 3 o'clock and then it adds saturation. Boost the
input signal with a pedal and you get an increadible Marshally
tone. Back up you guitar volume and you have crystal clean Fender
tones.

The high input gives you more or less the same thing with the
amp volume up to 9-10 o'clock. Increase the volume and you get
an incredible Marshall tone but with more bottom end. With
the volume all the way up, this amp delivers a loud (for an 18 watt
amp) overdriven tone that isn't buzzy, but the notes retain definition,
and the bottom end stays tight. Best of all, by changing you pickup
configuration and rolling down you guitar volume, you can still get
Fenderish sounds at almost the same volume as before. The tone controls
don't do much (not like matchless), they just color up the sound a bit,
but I think this amp's magic is, IMO, in the sensitivity to the
input signal. It will respond tremendously diferent to diferent
input signals.

The Budda's circuit is unlike anything that ever existed, without
being overcomplicated, and that's what makes it great. It's got all
the vintage sounds but with its own personality.

The costumer service is also great. I've had long conversations
over the phone with Jeff Bober himself (Budda's designer). When
I got the amp, I called Budda to ask a few questions about it;
after spending all the time I needed explaining everything, the
guy asked me my name+address to put me in their warranty list.
Too nice.
