Help Identify this Amp and Lap Guitar.

Karan Geske wrote to me and asked about this Guitar and Amp that she found. Sound Projects, Co. made the Lectrolab line of amplifiers, but this is obviously an early 1940s (or even late 1930s) vintage amp and lap steel combo. The guitar is pressed steel and has nice little bakelite knobs.
Here's what she wrote:

Hi Keith,
Here are some pictures of the lap guitar which states Sound Project Co, Chicago,
Il on back of the neck and also the amp that is attached to it. Pretty interesting piece. After looking at the pictures, if you've seen anything like this any information would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if the pictures do not come over, as I will resend them.

Thanks.
Karan

Buy the Book!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.
