I always loved the sound of the old tweed pro's, but as we all know prices for old tweed's have gone nut's. I found a 1960 danelectro explorer with a 15 inch utah and 6l6s, I've got to tell you this is the perfect mid size amp for me, not too big or loud, beautiful breakup nice round tone and plenty of bottom. My bassman has not left my house since I found this amp, and the guy sold me the amp for $225. Just a tip keep your eyes open, if your looking for a great rig these are worth a look for sure. They also made the same amp under the Silvertone name. I have an old turner stick that was a little to small at the business end to fit an astatic element. A friend of mine gave me a noname crystal that came out of an old italian made real to real. The Mike now sounds damn near as good as my best jt-30.
