Subject: Re[2]: Small Keyboard and Music Theory

Hello Don,

For studying _basic_ theory a 61 key board is fine. You might find it a
little limiting as you progressed. That said, many pro performing
keyboards come in at 76 keys, so something in that range would be very
ok.

You can get a Radio Shack type keyboard at any price. or--if you have
an amp to plug it into, or a stereo, you can sometimes pick up a used
Korg M1 workstation for around $300 US and that's a very nice board
(pro quality) with _very_ good quality sounds, and some nifty extra
features like sequencing, very good MIDI capability.

My advice is go for something like the Korg or an equivalent.

All the brands you named are good value in the various price ranges.
