Yes, quite so. You can tune a reed up and down by several tone steps but
the different lengths of reeds with an identical pitch, i.e. the different
slot
lengths, prevent to interchange such reeds, Unless, you take a longer reed,
cut it to size and tune it to the wanted pitch.

However, that's a work for someone who doesn't know what to do at
weekends.
