A while ago I replaced the reedplates on my 270 with the Hard Bopper
reedplate/comb special that Farrell's sell. Since then, I had one reed go
quite flat.

I had been thinking of replacing this reed with one from the original 270
reed set, which I still have.

This discussion about long vs short reed slot comes as a revelation. Does
this mean the reeds for Hard Boppers and 270s are not interchangeable?

Since I was planning to use this project as my intro to chromatic
maintenance, the answer to this question may save me from a potentially
frustrating experience.

Thanks.

Jimbeau
