Subject: Rob was Jake

Rob Paparozzi should be just about touching down in the US after his
European tour with the original Blues Brothers band. He must be the perfect
reincarnation of "Jake". He did a great job fronting this great band and
played a lot of harmonica. He also quietened the enthusiastic audience
about half way through the concert, talked about Larry Adler and then
played a couple of cool bluesy choruses of Body and Soul on chromatic,
backed only by a subdued organ. He then stoked up the audience for the
rest of the evening. A true professional.

As Rob got near to the UK he emailed me to offer some comps for the UK
concerts and as a result we (the National harmonica League) were able to
put him in touch with players at most of the venues. This gave him a chance
to see more than his hotel room, and gave some of our members the chance to
to speak with him.

This sounds like a win win situation for the harmonica community, and if
anyone else wants to try it, feel free to email me. Where there is more
spare time and enough warning, there could be opportunities to organise a
get together of some sort. We hope to organise something with Howard Levy
when he visits the UK in May.
