Subject: finding keys + misc

Gabe's method is a good start. When I don't have my guitar, I use a
diatonic in C and walk up the major scale. If no hits, go to a B harp
and do the same. As you do it more often you don't have to go through
the whole scale or to the B harp.

If you're playing with a band, ASK. Make sure to ask the key of the
song. Some folks will say "play a C harp or play in C", which may mean
the tune is in G, so specifically ask the key of the tune. Just don't
ask the singer (trust me, I am one). 8)

on the myquill test, I failed. Bonus answer: I've been learning
chromatic and working chromatic and major scales on it.

Misc - I had forgotten, but Robert makes a great point, when I played
symphonic music (20 years ago) writing notes on the music was fairly
standard.

C ya,
