Reservations may be made by calling in no later than February 15, 2002. Admission is still being calculated, but will likely be $20 per head; $25 at the door. This is a nice, family friendly event--three clubs, professional entertainment, stuff for sale, good door prizes, raffles, a chance to perform and amaze your family. The event will include demonstrations and discussions of the different styles of harmonica playing in Blues, Jazz and Irish traditional music and the makes and models of harmonicas used, focussing principally on diatonic, chromatic and tremolo instruments.
There will be sessions throughout the afternoon which will be open to all instrumentalists and an accomplished backing band will be present throughout the afternoon.
As before there will be a great deal of harp-related printed material, catalogues and information about harmonica services and societies for people to take away, and I will be available to answer questions and give advice.
Trade stands will be present allowing people to purchase harmonicas should they wish to.
This will be the fifth shindig I have organised and I am sure that, like its predecessors, it will provide a friendly forum for meeting other harp players and learning more about the instrument.
Entry is Ł3 and includes a raffle with harmonicas, donated by Hohner, Suzuki and Hering as prizes!
