Subject: Re: harp-l-digest V9 #9 - Tab vs. standard notation

Whats being suggested here is the equivelant of publishing more picture
> books for the growing illiteracy amongst the population. Great stuff.

Might I suggest that what is being suggested here is irrelevant to some on
the list? I can read (but not play from) standard notation, and tabs are
useful to me only insofar as they give me a clue where to begin. Many harp
players like me learn the notes and relationships by rote, by ear, and by
practice. An additional advantage to this method is that there is no loss of
proficiency if one goes blind. Perhaps if I run out of pieces I can learn in
this manner, I will learn to play from std notation or tab.
