Blues guitar player Earl Hooker was born on this day in 1930. Like a lot of
Blues players, Hooker could also play the harmonica.

Multi-instrumentalist Captain Beefheart was born on this day in 1941. A
close associate of Frank Zappa, Beefheart played harmonica on several of
Zappa's albums as well as playing on several albums of his own.

Blues harmonica legend Junior Wells died on this day in 1998. Wells was one
of the true giants of the Chicago Blues scene, working with Muddy Waters,
Buddy Guy and many others as well as having a stellar career of his own. He
made a brief appearance in the movie "Blues Brothers 2000" before slipping
into a coma.
