i was at a jam last week in philly, and one of the harp players over the course of the evening was introduced as gus. i was up next, and he was gone when i came off, so i never got to meet him. i'm curious, of course, as to whether the guy's name really was gus, or if a mysterious lister was just having an in joke. i may never truly know... i met a gus of a different sort at a gig on saturday, when a guy i had talked to earlier walked out of the bar and came back with a few harps. yeah, he played, but not real loud, not real long, and not when i played a solo. he asked to play on the final number, and i was happy to oblige him...
