I'll further reiterate the difference between the impedance transformer and wired high impedance is night and day. I have a very high quality Shure low to high transformer. Using it I kept wondering why anyone would use a 545. I read a post by I think Mark Burness in which he mentioned that the 545's that are wired dual can be switched simply by using the Astatic type pinout XLR/ 1/4" cords. I quit using my 520D wich I loved once I got the 545 working correctly. fjm
