Please note: when you call the Holiday Inn to book a room, be sure to say that you are associated with the SPAH Convention running from August 13 - 17, this will ensure that you get the very heavily discounted convention room rate. If you are booking more than one person into the room (max 4) you need to make this known too. The hotel has a free shuttle to and from the CMH airport. Courtesy Hotel phones are in the baggage claim area. Tuesday the 13th is meet and greet day. People usually begin arriving at 3pm on that day. Rooms are available at 3pm. (Check out is by 12 noon on the day that you leave.) The program starts at 9am on Wednesday the 14th. >From then on we have 18 - 20 things happening during the day and evening until 2am with breaks for lunch and dinner. During the day there are three or four events happening at the same time. Formal seminars, lasting usually an hour - an open mic stage with people playing all day - groups of people playing and talking together, and two shops, open most of the day, selling CDs, books, and instruments at very good prices. Each evening there are concerts, followed by jazz and blues jams into the early morning. The headline artists are not yet finalized, but a full set of information will be mailed in early May to all members of SPAH. Anyone else wanting a copy of the information should contact SPAH using the information below, and including their postal address. Hotel price is $80/room/night including tax - up to four people can share, cutting the cost considerably. There are 5-6 inexpensive restaurants within a couple of hundred yards of the Hotel. You will receive details of how to book the hotel with the registration pack.
