It really depends on the circuit. On BF/SF Fenders I sometimes disable the
vibrato and use the two knobs in addition with the reverb knob to make a
three
knob reverb effect like on the stand alone unit. Or I'll not have dwell but
just a tone control (using the speed control) for the reverb then use the
intensity knob as a variable feedback resistor which is very cool mod. You
can
also use the one of the vibrato knobs as a master volume. I'm also trying
to
figure out a way to disable the vibrato on a Vibro-Champ and use the tube
and
knobs to drive a small reverb pan, a Champ with reverb. There's a way to
use an
output transformer to drive a reverb tank, and use the disabled vibrato tube
as
a recovery gain stage. Still figuring this one out, the devil is in the
details.
Yeah, a lotta stuff like that can be done, you wanna make sure that the
mod
is reversable and you carefully detail how you did the mod so you can
reverse
it, and keep all the parts.
