Why the lip? I'd think that the lips would get about
the same amount of use regardless of the volume.
Thy're just flaps to keep the air going in the right
direction, but the air doesn't press on them much -
they are mostly draped over the mouthpiece. Is this
just a figure of speech, or is there some secret of
loud playing I've missed out on?
