Subject: re: jazz snobs and muddy waters box set addicts

Two of the greatest shows I ever saw-one was an all night jazz concert in
Cambridge Mass in the 70s at a church. I specifically remember a lady
vocalist playing with Steve Swallow, doing a killer version of Deep
Tango. No harp. Just amazing music. Another was seeing Muddy Waters live
at a bar, somewhere in Boston. Everyone was banging beer pitchers in time
with the music. I thought they were going to tear the place down. So I'm
a jazz snob and a Muddy Waters junkie.

Actually right now, Ali Farke Toure is on permanent loop on my tape deck.
Again, no harp. Which means plenty of space to add harp. I love the
African waltz stuff that he does.I haven't gpt the feel for his music
yet, but I have a feeling Sonny Terry would fit right in.

Blues Nazi, jazz snob, Muddy Waters junkie, Alanis Morrisette John Popper
