Subject: Re: : Chromatic Harp

Kenny....................Bending on a Chromatic is not like bending on a
diatonic. This is because the blow and draw reeds are separated by valves,
which inhibits the interaction one gets with the blow and draw reeds when
bending a note on the diatonic. The intent of the valve (a small strip on
plastic film) is to concentrate air on the reed you wish to activate. You
can still bend notes on a Chromatic, and with lots of expression, it just
isn't quite as dramatic as on a diatonic. Do tell us all which chromatic
you finally decide to go with and six months later, how you like it.
