Hi All,
First of all, I want to thank all of our international readers and everyone who sent notes for those on the East Coast and to us as Americans in general. As you all have noticed, there are a large number of Americans on this list and it warms our hearts greatly to know that you share this pain with us. Your sentiments have brought us a ray of hope on this very dark day.
On the other hand, I would like to remind everyone that the list is not really an appropriate place for political discussion. On an occasion so rare and horrifying it is difficult not to share your thoughts and feeling with your friends and I would like to think that we are this kind of group. However, things are starting to get a little out of hand, so let's avoid any discussion beyond your condolences and best wishes for those affected by this tragedy.
What I would like to suggest is a quite day of reflection for all to coincide with the day of mourning and moments of silence being offered all around the world. What might be an excellent topic for the day are stories describing how the harmonica has created wonderful friendships and special experiences all across the globe. I know I have friends from all over the world with whom I share the special craft of the harmonica. The harmonica has widened my view and understanding of much of the world as a result. Expressing these experiences and thoughts are perhaps the best response to such a horrifying event. I would like to see more of these types of posts and less about politics, policies and retribution. Thanks again for all of your kind sentiments from all over the world.
