Actually, applied midway down the reed, according to descriptions in the
archives, on the face of the reed closest to the reedplate (but apparently
working for some if put on the other side instead).

While in the archives, you might also browse "nail polish" for an
alternative fix that indeed is near the reed attachment plate. Beeswax was
also used, but browsing that will also give you lots of discussions not
related to overblow problems on Oriental harps.
