Subject: Re: Audio Sample and On-Stage Amp Positioning Question

Chris,

I think it's usually one or all of the following, bad amp/monitor
postioning,
the fact that some of these people actually practice in a confined space
(bedroom?) with a 40 or 100W amp set at gig levels and have subsequently
damaged their hearing, lastly there's good old fashioned ego.

Regarding the second point a guitarist friend of mine could always play at
an
appropriate level, then after just one weekend in a tiny studio with another
player using a Twin and a loud bass player he now complains he can't hear
unless the amp's so loud it's actually painful to be on stage with.

Hopefully more people are becoming aware of the risks of hearing loss, many
of the guys I knowthat have been playing for decades have a problem.

Regards, Mark.
