WHO??? [I thought enough time had passed that his shtick was forgotten,
and I'd be viewed as an original :) :)]

Well, would it help if I told you it was a tan fedora and clip-on
shades?

How about if I told you it wasn't worn in public? Chris Michalek asked
what we wore and what we played. I guess there's gotta be an assumed
"in front of an audience" following the "perform" in his original
e-mail. I'm pretty much a total amatuer/hobbyist/hack who plays mainly
for my own enjoyment (and there's a lot of us out there, maybe even a
Silent Majority, c'mon fellas, speak up), and can count on one hand the
number of times I've played in a room containing more than 3 people.
Nevertheless, as a list-member in good standing, I felt I should answer
the survey question and help get us to a statistically significant
number of answers. :)

Anyway, it was interesting to hear about all the folks who do perform
(in front of audiences) and their take on clothes. And it got me
wondering about a couple of important questions:
- - Does it matter whether you're getting paid or not as to what you wear?

- - Does what you wear affect how you play?
- - What fraction of list posters do you think has been financially
compensated for playing the harmonica?
- - Has anyone else on the list played harmonica and golf at the same
time? (had to ask that one, I'm looking for a niche here - The Golfing
Harmonicist? - but the guy who wants to play in the plaid pants got me
a bit worried, though - a little too close to home on that one)

One reason I'm kinda into this is that I have my first truely "public"
performance coming up in one month. Previous few gigs in front of >20
people were groups where I knew 80% of the audience, so I don't put them
in the same class. At this one I will know no one in the audience.
Best of all, the group I'm playing with will consist of ~20 flutes, 3
electronic keyboards and one harmonica... what a hoot! Eat your heart
out, Bonfiglio!

BTW, I think I'll leave the fedora and shades at home.
