Subject: Re: more bending

I remember when I started playing every time it came to a bend I would
scrunch up my face and turn red with effort, much to the amusement of the
guy
who was trying to show me the ropes, "It shouldn't take any more physical
effort to play a bent note", he said...and he's right. It's purely a matter
of technique. In fact I try to play all my notes (bends especially) gently.
It's easier to "colour" the note, get a sweet vibrato and to my ear makes a
sweeter, thicker sound. You'll find adrenalin (and loud accompanyists) will
cause you to play harder when it comes to jamming etc.

As you suspect it's something (like everything else) that comes with
practice. As you get more practised you'll concentrate on hearing note the
you should be playing rather the "mechanical" technique that facilitates
that
note.

Keep at it, it will come.

Regards, Mark.
