Subject: Re: harp-l-digest V8 #313 [no harp]

~HE~ posted 4 posts in this last digest- each with
paragraph-long ~banners/sigs~ for his [put descriptive
adjective here. I can't sink that low] music. As he
knows, in the next digest he'll probably get his
~banners~ repeated in a couple replies. And ANY
publicity is good publicity.

He's also using us and using an old ~Populist~
technigue of pretending to ~fight for the little guy~.

EVERY other person on this list knows that this is
crass. Some of you might not mind when he writes his
own questions to answer- and it might even be argued
that it helps some people [although ALL OF IT is in
the archives], but I would ask people to put pressure
on him to limit the length of his posts and the amount
of times he posts per day. OR, alternatively, lets ask
him to leave off his adverts. On days where he
generates controversy [once a month] the digests
contain little other than him- and this is why he does
it.

You have to ask yourself; would you do it? Would you
write five posts with paragraph long adverts to say
how great you are??? No. It's over the edge. He gets
warned and warned, but after a while he's back up to 5
and 6 posts per day. Combined with all the folks who
don't see anything but ~some poor helpful guy getting
dissed~ [he plays this card like a champ]- and writing
to defend him, the digest becomes unreadable.

I suggest he be limited to 3 posts per day- and ONE
advert: by peer pressure. Anyone second this?

As to those who find me harsh or out-of-line: Look, I
DO have the right to try to rein this guy in. He
doesn't deserve banishment- but the List doesn't
deserve to become his personal publicity machine.

The owner-guy might be mad at me for saying all this
[he does a great job and I don't know what I'd do if I
were him. Please forgive my tirade] but I really think
only peer pressure is going to stop this Man-of-Iron.
We really don't deserve to be taken hostage by him.

The ironic thing [that he is all too aware of] is that
a long thread about this will only serve his purposes
and encourage him. The only way is to NOT MENTION his
name when you reply.

Good luck in your harmonica training.
