My experience is very much like John's, over time the combs tend to chip and
crack. Though it's primarily at the corners it's not limited to that area,
and seems to grow worse as the harmonicas age. I would imagine that the
desire for an aftermarket comb is to get a harp that is as durable as other
plastic combed harps like the Special 20 or the Lee Oskar.
