Welcome to "the quest." It won't end, my friend, even when you sound 10
times as good as you do now. ;-)
One essential part of getting fat tone is to drop your jaw when you play.
To see what I mean, try this: Without the harp, blow some cold air onto your
arm. Now, blow some hot breath onto your arm. Feel the difference in how
your jaw is positioned and where the air is coming from? Positioning your
jaw in that manner will do loads to help you improve your acoustic tone,
which is the key to everything.
Once you're happy with your acoustic tone and you begin working on your
amped tone, properly gripping/cupping the mic is more important than which
mic or amp you use, IMO.
