Peter, thanks for the info on Ziggy the harmonica-playing elephant of days
past.

While I have yet to purchase the cd, there is a cd called the "Thai Elephant
Orchestra" or something along those lines which has elephants playing
various instruments (sometimes with humans, sometimes without). One of the
instruments the elephants play is a harmonica. I have no idea about what
type of harmonica or whether it is played with mouth or trunk.

I've also seen an elephant playing harmonica on late-night tv. I guess the
harmonica is an instrument that elephants find fairly accessible, as opposed
to say, the violin.

Peter, one question. You say that Ziggy killed a "Marine Band trombonist".
By this, do you mean a human trombonist who was in a Marine Band? Also, was
it an accident? (which apparantly happens a fair amount when humans and
elephants interact--elephants are just so big that they can easily hurt
humans without any intention of doing so) I sort of assumed it was an
accident, as if not I would have guessed that Ziggy would probably have been
killed if he had shown aggression.
