Harpin' in Colorado, --Ken M. >> Hey Ken! Great suggestions about breakin' down the proverbial WALL! Great stuff to help Ed and the rest of us too! Here are a few more: 1. Listen to Louis Jordan records for the solos (naturally!) but as important, the humor and general good time effect these recordings convey. 2. Often we try too hard to play great. Let some of this go and just PLAY for the fun of it. 3. I got a charge out of playing Willie Nelson's "Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain the other night and this as you know is not Blues but is a beautiful melody for harp 4. Play all solos with only 3 notes. What a challenge this can be! Play in any order and see if you can make them fit melodically and rhythmically. 5. Sing as often as you can, and sing the great solos you like. Your mind will soak up the stuff and when it is ready it will come back to your harp. Real great thread ! Keep it going!!!!!!!!!!!!!
