Subject: playing the harp upside-down

A few years ago I saw a local harp player who was pretty decent. I noticed
that he played the harp upside-down. He said this was just the way he
picked it up when he was younger. I also heard somewhere that Sonny Terry
played the harp upside-down. Just out of curiosity, do any of you guys play
this way? Are there any advantages/disadvantages?
