First and foremost; Birthday greetings to Slidemeister member Chicken Jimbo
who is turning 62! Jim is an excellent chromatic player, (heard his
Christmas music, quite beautiful), as well as being a nice guy.

Outlaw Frank James died on this day in 1915. He would have died sooner, but
a bullet that was headed for his heart was stopped by the harmonica that he
carried in his breast pocket.

Bernie Bray died on this day in 1981. Bray was a Canadian harmonica master,
playing solo and with harmonica bands. SPAH's man-of-the-year award is
named after him.

Derroll Adams died on this day last year. Adams was best known as a banjo
player, but played the harmonica as well. He worked a lot with Woodie
Guthrie and Ramblin' Jack Elliott.
