<moved here...I'm guessing to play wih Mike Morgan--or hang out with his friend Hash Brown--I'm not certain which is which. I was immediately impressed with his stage presence, deep catalogue of obscure tunes, vocal delivery, and harp playing (he's also the nephew of Jimmy McCracklin).>>
Keith did come to town to play with Mike Morgan and the crawl for a spell. keith and I played together on the east coast around 1980.
<up in Rhode Island working for a spell with Roomful Of Blues. Then he was in Texas--or was it the other way around--anyway, soon after that he and John Packer (then playing guitar--now on bass w/ D. Robillard) went to play Europe, and I think Keith has been there ever since then.>>
He was actually born and raised in Boston. He was in Austin, Tx early on(mid 70's), played with Jimmie and Stevie Vaughan. He sang with Roomful of Blues for a whole year while Greg Piccolo was recovering from throat surgery. He has been living and playing in europe(Rotterdam) for over ten years now. He appeared at SPAH 1999, which is when we decided to do some gigs this year in Texas.
<read, just him and a harmonica. Alone. A heady proposition, that I hear thru the grapevine he pulls off quite well. Just recently, I heard that he will be working with zeller Todd Sharpville in the Blues Barons. Like I said, Keith gets around....and is finally getting around to doing a gig here in Dallas again!
Keith will be playing with a band that Hash Brown has assembled for the occasion tomorrow nite (Fri Dec 1) at the Blue Cat Blues club in Dallas (214-744-2293).
