Subject: Shakin Smith's new CD (featuring Robert Lockwood Jr.)

Hello! I am writing to announce the release of a new
CD by longtime bluesman, Shakin Smith. If you have an
interest in blues harmonica, or great harmonica in
general--(why else would I be posting to this
list?!?)--I think you would be very interested in this
artist. Titled "Wizard of the Harmonica,” the new
album features contributions by legendary blues
guitarist Robert Lockwood Jr.

Shakin Smith has been playing the harmonica since he
was 5 years old, and has been heavily influenced by
harmonica legends Sonny Boy Williamson (a.k.a. Aleck
“Rice” Miller) and Little Walter. He has been playing
at clubs since he was a teen in the 1960's, and has
shared the stage with many blues greats, including
Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Junior Wells, John Lee
Hooker, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Rogers, Albert
Collins, James Cotton, and others. In 1985, he became
the first blues artist to be inducted into the Buffalo
Music Hall of Fame.

Although Shakin Smith has established a great
reputation in the Western New York and southern
Ontario regions, he is not well known to the greater
music world. Moreover, his latest effort is an
independent release—but the music certainly speaks for
itself. So I would like to invite you to check out
the band’s new website (http://www.shakinsmith.com)
which features audio clips from this new album, in
addition to news, biographical information, and club
listings.

If you express a further interest after checking out
the website, please let me know, and I will be happy
to supply you with additional information. Thanks in
advance!
