Hi folks,
I just wanted to spread the word one more time if needed that Tim Norris does a great job on any mic related stuff. I had sent him 9 mics and elements (CM, CR, dynamic, etc) and I recieved everything back last night. I only tried them with my champ so far (too late to plug the vibrolux without getting into trouble with the neighbors) but these mics are as sweet as can be. If I had to rank them, I'd say:
1- Shure 545 / Shure CR bullet 2- JT30 w/ CM element 3- turner with CM element 4- EV630
All the other ones are very good but these 5 mics are just as good as it gets. The other sweet thing that Tim did is build a little in line VC with screw on connectors on both ends so that I have only one VC that can be put on any of the mics. Tim was so professional that instead of putting a screw on connector on the 4 pin Shure 545 and on the 3 pin Astatic T3, he made adaptors so that I could use them with other mics also. The craftmanship is flawless and Tim is a very nice person to deal with, opened to share his knowledge with me for some mics I decided to work on myself.
If you have any old mic sitting around unused, take my word and go for it.
