Yesterday while shopping I stopped at a second hand store, and bought an old Sony mic. To be used in a DIY mic I'm still planning to build. Only marking on it is an ancient label that looks like Sony F-V5. This is a el cheapo mic with an 1/8" wire, luckily I still have the adaptor to plug it into my amp so it still works. Not the greatest but..... My questions; Can this be used to make a Harp mic, ala Planet Harmonica? Can I solder standard guitar cable to the element? Or do I use the 1/8" stuff to the guitar jack, then plug a standard cable into that? Can I build it w/o the volume control? I also found a site that sells cables & something called a swamprobe for setting bias on tube amps. http://www.swampamp.com/ Anybody ever deal with em? Thanx, in advance!
