You should be fine with the tube. Just so you know, I bought a new RCA tube
for my bassman and it appeared the same as you described, burnt spot and
all. Toss her in and jam away. I also would reccomend a bias modification
for your amp. I did the mod myself on mine and I think it ended up costing
me about $5 - $10. The improvement in both tone and dynamics is awesome.
