Oz has spoken. Absolute dicatorship power is granted to anyone willing to
take on the task. Even I would prefer audio CD's, I just didn't want anyone
else burdened with more than is neccessary. I fear that if the compilation
grows like the Internet, we could easily be talking four or five (or more)
CD's worth of audio. Maybe I'm being a bit paranoid.

With that in mind, I have another (hopefully more helpful) suggestion:

Two "deadlines".
The first, an "intent to submit" deadline. i.e., I intend to submit x
number of songs, and an estimate of time for each.
The second, submit the actual song(s).

It would also be nice to hear from anyone who is not submitting but wishes
to purchase.

After the first deadline, you use your dictatorship powers to trim the
number of submissions per person, if need be, to get the length down to
whatever number of CD's you are comfortable producing.

I'd also like to offer a bit better analysis of the option of farming out
the duplication work. I was not very complete previously. At $1.15 per CD
for a minimum run of 500 CD's, you(we) have $575 to put up, per CD "volume"
(side?).

So, if you sell:
100, that's $5.75 each (you need to recover)
150, that's $3.83
200, that's $2.88
300, that's $1.92 and so on.

I dug into the archives and found Bill Lifford's list of customers, it
looks like about 60 copies of Harp-L IV were produced. If the scope of
Harp-L V is similar, it sounds like no big deal either way you do it. If it
doubles in amount of customers and number of submissions, it's probably
getting into the range of what's worth farming out.
