It is a good idea to practice in all 12 keys to get to know your instrument.

The scale is a simple song that you know by ear. The major scale is
generally the first song you are able to play in all twelve keys. It uses
a lot of notes which fit well together and good combination of half steps
and whole steps. The most common intervals in music are half and whole
steps.

Other songs are also worthwhile to practice in all twelve keys like cords
and licks.

Scales help me to know where the notes and intervals are and facilitate
being able to translate mental music into audible music.
