Subject: Hum at idle

Hi George,

If the amp hums with the volume off then :

1/ Your output tubes are not matched
2/ Your power supply filter capacitors are defective
3/ Your 6 volt tube filament supply is not balanced.
4/ Other....

The easiest to check is the power tubes.
Does your amp have 2 power tubes?
If it only has one then you don't have to
worry about matching output tubes. (-:

In either case, replace the pair (or single)
power tube with a matched set (or single new tube).

If that does not fix the hum you might
consider having the amp checked or
sending it back.
