Subject: Crate VC 508 - Hum At Idle?

I took the advice of Paul Messinger, Richard Hunter, and others and got a
Crate VC 508. Cool little amp for harp, and a terrific value. Mine may
have a problem, though. There is a hum that comes through the speaker even
with the volume off. It's not terribly loud, but is loud enough to be
disturbing. Loud enough to be plainly heard across a room. Way louder
than my Sovtek MIG 50, which is almost dead quiet with the volume off.

Is this just my amp, or do other VC 508 owners experience the same thing?
I got mine mail order, and still have a week to return it.
