Subject: Re: Anonymous Greats on Harp-L

Hi All,

Ok, I ad mit that I said:

>" ... On the other hand, you might be surprised to know who of
the true
>greats is 'listening in' on our conversations all the time ;-)."

to which several have replied:

>Okay, I'll bite ... who?

Well, since many of these folks wish to remain anonymous, I am
not going to tell exactly who. However, we do get posts from
them on rare occasion - quite often via a representative who is a
regular list contributor ;-). Occasionally I have seen one or
two of these folks post to the list directly as well! Anyway,
MOST of the harmonica community is involved with one or another
of the groups that support us or help fill our ranks with their
members. A very few performers who have enjoyed unprecedented
commercial success are not as easy to get a hold of. Probably
because their "community" is more with other performers who also
enjoy that success and they simply haven't had the opportunity to
"get hooked" on our crowd yet ;-).

Anyway, pardon my baiting you guys, bt I shouldn't be giving out
any more hints. just remember, if you have something to ask
about one of your favorite players, SOMEONE on list is likely to
know them and be able to forward the question and get a response.
That is the real beauty of the harmonica community and one of the
traits that sets it aside from sax, guitar, keyboard, etc. Have
fun all,

Michael
