Unlike Michael Polesky, I have had no poor dealings with Farrell except for a three month delivery of an urgent catalogue request.
However
Michael also says>>>
My dream is to play a harp that actually "works" right out of the box.
The word ' Renaissance ' springs to mind.
Actually, I agree with him in many respects. but but but ... It was not always so. There was a time after the war and into the 60s when you could get a #270 direct from Germany and not only did it work straight out of the box, it worked superbly well. In the UK we had the same instrument which I think was put together with 'English speaking' coverplates... the result was rubbish. It was a delight to go to Germany and stock up.
The same seems to apply to motor manufacture and software. Most of the time there is a certain lack of function on delivery!!!
I am sure that a Filisko harp works 'out of the box' One of the problems we have today is that things are designed down to a price to be competitive, not up to a quality to give satisfaction (if that isn't a sweeping generalisation, I don't know what is!!!)
