They are expensive, but if you don't need dubbing and really want
excellent quality tapes, the Sony Walkman Professionals are INCREDIBLE.
I recorded a band practice in my basement and freaked the guy out at the
store, who thought he was hearing a tape of a CD. There are two models
and recording quality is as good on both, but the more expensive one has
more options. I'm told Michele Shocked recorded her first album on one
of these. If you want GREAT quality, portability, and don't need to
overdub, drop a half a G on this product. But check the polarity before
you plug in.
