I personally hate playing through the P.A. If you have the bread
try this. A vocal mic like a SM57 or a 58 through a Roland amp. I have read
that "Tex" Nakamura (I think?) from
War uses a JC-120 which I think has 2 twelve inch speakers and a very
clean sound. You would be able to control your sound a little easier on
stage rather than letting a sound man do it or walking to the P.A. board
every time you needed a tweak.
Just a thought
