Subject: microphones

Harpers,
I'm trying to get a good clean harp sound for a countryish band I've been
playing with. Right now, I own a bullet and a fender champ, which
obviously produces a rather harsh sound. In going for a tone like Mickey
Raphael's, would I be smart in buying a Shure 58 and running through the
amp, or might just running through the PA be better? Are there any other
rigs that people are recommending? Is the 58 generally considered
adequate for harps? Has anyone ever tried a 57? Inquiring minds need to
know. Thanks!

kurt
