Hi! I'm familiar to the problem with dry mouth from my first gigs, and even
sometimes recently, if there was any particular reason for being nervous...
I've tried various beverages, including way too much strong beer...
Water of course, but I think a lot of water just makes things worse - the
mouth dries out even more and then you have to go to the bathroom all the
time. Coke IMO just makes lips and harp sticky
For me the thing that works best is sticking to low alcohol beer - it's
refreshing, without making you dizzy playing silly things, but it actually
leaves a flavour of beer which may give that little extra self confidence you
may need to losen up a bit.
