i don't know if understand it right , but in my hometown, there is a harper
who uses a telephone mic to play through (abgeschnittener aelterer Telefonhoerer)
he came to this , because he was not very satisfied with sound and form of the
existing mics.
It looks truely pretty cool, although i found out at the end of one of their
shows, he said he does not use that strange mic for a show gag, but it feels
best in the hands, he said. he plays that 'telephone-mic' for nearly 15 years
now. his style is comparable to andy just, he also uses LO harps.
he had studied (elektrotechnik) and said there is nothing complicated in harp
mic and for some blues styles 22khz are not neccessary and the rest can be done
with usual add of equipment to the amp (distortion, echo) ...

the name of that fine band is Cheap Tequila ... and shurely there is always some
tequila for the audience in their shows ...
